Generations Behavioral Health (GBH) opened its Youngstown location in April 2018.
With a focus on mental health, substance abuse, and comprehensive care, their mission says it all: “to provide the highest level of quality care, treatment and services to those in need and do so with the utmost compassion, touching the lives of those struggling with mental, behavioral health and addiction-based needs.”
Generations Behavioral Health offers acute, short-term inpatient care for adults over 18 years of age. The three units, (Geriatric, Adult, and Dual Diagnosis), allows GBH to offer a combined 78 beds and care to each individual with targeted programs and individual therapy. Every day is carefully planned for goal-setting, treatment, expressive arts therapy, and self-reflection.
Generally, patients come to GBH from professional providers such as therapists, family doctors, psychiatrists, hospital emergency rooms, urgent care centers, and nursing homes/assisted living facilities. These professional providers call Generations’ 24-hour Central Intake Line at (234)-232-7459 to make a referral on behalf of the patient.
What sets Generations Behavioral Health Apart?
Mason Yoder, Director of Business Development at GBH explains, “Generations Behavioral Health – Youngstown has three distinct and separate adult service lines. We service adults with mental illness, adults with substance use disorders/co-occurring disorders and the geriatric population”, he says.
With approximately 10 social service employees on staff, the psychiatry and medical team are able to see each patient every single day, unlike most other hospitals. “All patients are on separate, locked units with specialized programming for each unit. We provide top of the line care to the patients we serve. We also accept most insurances including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurances”, Yoder says.
What’s Next for Generations?
When looking at the future of GBH, Yoder explained, “Our Youngstown location recently opened our Partial Hospitalization Program, an outpatient program for adults. We are actively expanding our services!”
