What it is: The date you became disabled

What it is: The last day of a quarter that a person meets insured status for blindness or disability.

What it is: The date the SSA believes your disability began, based off medical records

What it is: A retirement benefit a person would receive at their normal retirement age, where the benefit is not increased or decreased due to early or late retiremen.

What it is: The amount of money a person can make while also qualifying for disability benefits.

What it is: An agency of the U.S. Government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of disability, survivor benefits, and retirement.

What it is: A federal program that provides cash payments to people who meet the federal definition of “disabled.”

What it is: A written decision denying benefits after a hearing.
