As the Client Concierge at Liner Legal, I work with our clients to get assistance from different programs, such as food banks, rent assistance, and more. Now, I’m here to share about a new benefit for those that receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) called the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)!

One of the many questions I get from clients is about how to reduce the cost of internet bills. While access to the internet is a need in today’s world, many of our clients are faced with the difficult decision of scaling back on their bills, and the internet is one of the first to come to mind. Many of us think of the internet as an ‘extra’ expense, but many rely on it to find phone numbers, and important websites, book appointments, and access information.

The good news is there is a resource that can assist now! Any household with an individual who receives SSI is eligible to receive discounted internet service through the ACP. This program can provide a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households. The program doesn’t end there. Eligible households can also get a one-time discount of $100 off the cost of a desktop computer, laptop or tablet as well. Utilizing this program will not impact your SSI benefits, as the ACP is not considered income or an additional resource.

Do you need help utilizing the ACP? Give me a call and we can discuss how and where to apply! Just call Liner Legal at 216-282-1773 and ask for Jordyn, or you can call me directly at extension 1785.
