Cleveland Man to Donate Funds to Local Charitable Causes as Part of Unique Payment Arrangement With Liner Legal

Stephen Jones, a local Cleveland man, is partnering with Liner Legal to donate money to local charities as part of a unique payment arrangement for services rendered and to help others during the holiday season.

Most of Liner Legal’s clients cannot afford to pay for legal services upfront, so the Social Security Administration (SSA) is supposed to hold all legal fees and release them to the lawyer at the end of the case. In a recent case, Jones, age 24, came to Liner Legal looking for help obtaining disability benefits. However, SSA neglected to hold the legal fees and released the entire sum to Jones by mistake.

In appreciation of the benefits he received, Jones wanted to pay the attorneys in full for representing him. However, Jones and Michael Liner, founder of Liner Legal, created a plan in which Jones will donate the money to help others. Instead of paying Liner Legal $50/month for essentially 3 years ($1800), Jones is committed to donating $36/month for 18 months ($650) to different charities to help better the community. This is a significant contribution on Jones’ part as he lives on a modest $773 per month.

By partnering on this unique payment arrangement, Jones and Liner Legal hope to raise awareness of each charity and encourage others in the community to donate as well.

“I am so appreciative of the services provided to me by Liner Legal and that they are allowing me to help others through this unique partnership, especially at the holiday season.”
